'International' Airports

Perhaps similar for Duluth International Airport.

Funny, because I live very near there and came into the thread to mention it. No doubt the local big-wheel politicians in the area thought it sounded impressive too.

George Bush Intercontinental, as it’s now known but was origianlly known as Houston Intercontinental, got the “intercontinental” term largely to distinguish itself from Houston’s other airport, Hobby, which was commonly referred to (unofficially) as Houston International Airport.

The most bizarre railway station I have seen was a wind shelter in the middle of nowhere named “Baltimore Washington International”

It’s not really off topic: it’s named after the airport, because it’s the closest station to that airport, and there’s a shuttle bus service connecting them.

I know. I wrote “slightly off topic” because it was about the railway stop rather than the airport. What made it funny is I thought it was such a grand name for a rain and wind shelter.
