We are starting an international archery association that will be a group of clubs that function under one governing body with set rules etc.
We are considering forming a non profit corp with a board of directors representing the different regions that would be voting members on the board.
Small amounts of money would be funneled toward the association headquarters to manage the small amount of expenses that are incurred. We expect our treasury would never have to exceed $1,000. The individual clubs would manage their own treasuries.
Are there any laws, international, state, federal etc that we would need to file with or would simple bookeeping be sufficint for such a small entitiy?
The money comming into head quarters would be derived as a percentage of registration fees for the events they hold. Clubs would set their own fees for events and use that money for equipment and sponsoring events. No salaries of any kind within the organization.
