…and must close. You will lose any information…blah, blah, blah… This is WIndows XP Home Edition, and it usually happens to me while answering an e-mail. Once I checked into the details of this message and found that it was a privacy issue, and that I was about to give out sensitive information. WTF? Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Light on why it’s happening or light on whether you should send sensitive info ?
That error is a generic message - a catch-all for whenever a serious internal error occurs within Internet Explorer. It can happen for any number of reasons - usually a bug in a plug-in or in the Internet Explorer code itself. Could also be that you’ve somehow got infected with some crapware - run Ad-Aware to cure it.
Run Windows Update and Office Update to minimize the common errors.
The information you send is used by Microsoft to evaluate the reasons for the error and the number of occurances across all users. If it’s significant, I assume, they attempt to fix it. Sometimes, after you send the info they present you with a link that explains the problem and a workaround or fix for the specific issue.
