internet lyric search

Occassionally when I get curious about the lyrics to a song, I come and look it up on my computer and have never before failed to find it after combing through a few search engines or lyric sites. But today, I was looking up a song and could not find it ANYWHERE on the internet. I don’t know the artist which poses an obvious difficulty but I tried bits of lyrics from all parts of the song, as well as searching for the title in about a hundred different places. It’s like the song just doesn’t exist.

Do some artists ban having their song lyrics posted on the internet, or is my song just SO unpopular that not a single person with a computer has bothered to type out the lyrics and post them somewhere? It seems to me that not allowing your lyrics to be posted (as well as being a bit nutty) would be awfully hard to control. You’d have to basically run searches on your song all the time and threaten the people who have them up. And even then, someone would probably slip through the cracks. I don’t know where else to turn. Please solve this mystery for me!

I usually search by putting a line into google with quotes around:
“I’m sick of sight without a sense of feeling”

Just curious, but what song?

Any Internet lyric site is a copyright violation, which is why they tend to pop up and then vanish once the lawsuits are threatened.

Google will usually get you the lyrics to a song, though.

Although it often seems like every single thing is on the internet, that’s not necessarily true. Some song lyrics are just not posted. I have several songs that I’ve been looking for for years and have yet to find. In fact, I just searched again yesterday for one, using various combinations of the artist, song title, and lyrics in quotes and was still unable to find anything. It’s possible that no one has bothered to put your song online, or that anyone who has has been shut down for one reason or another.
