there’s actually a very interesting psychological phenomenon going on here, which I’ve seen on the board several times. Random Internet Surfer finds the Dope, thinks “Wow, a forum for intelligent people who fight ignorance. I’m intelligent and have vast knowledge, surely they will all bow before me.” Then when we don’t, they leave in a huff.
Maybe we should put something on the homepage saying “You’re more likely to find your own ignorance than to identify it in others. Come expecting to learn, not to preach.”

Well, since our esteemed OP has not seen fit to monitor her driveby shitting I can only surmise that after telling us how intolerant we are because we argue to consensus it’s now time to visit a breastfeeding message board to extol the virtues of formula, to explain to the long hair board how superior short hair is due to ease of maintenance, to rail at the large penis support board group for their lack of helpfulness in aiding the short cocked to cope with their deficiencies and to explain to the board dedicated to performance cars that they’d be ever so much better off riding tiny mopeds.

I like this - it’s what I get most from the Dope, really. I like the humor, and some of the debates, but mostly I hear and learn things I’d have never known otherwise.
As for the OP, I’m heartbroken that the OP is going to be leaving. After all I’d enjoyed and been illuminated by all the posts they’d left in other threads I’ve been involved in…
