Invasion of the Super-Pig

I, for one…

First it was those damn Canadian Geese, now Canadian Pigs.

Time to build a wall and make Canada pay for it.

It would have to be buried about 10 ft deep and made of something you can’t dig up or go through. Electric fence doesn’t phase them. Their hides are thick with some kinda disease plaque allover. Then they cake in mud and it dries to a cast almost.
A bullet is all that stops them.
The state land next to us has pits dug to trap them. It rarely works. If more than 2 or 3 fall in they fight and fight. One will be killed eventually. The others eat it.
You should hear the pit fights. It’s horrible.

Back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I ate wild boar and deer meat in Arkansas. They were cooked so long due to parasites that I couldn’t tell them apart.

One of the above guys was working with AR Game & Fish breeding penned swine and releasing them for hunting.

Return of Babe’s Revenge: They Thought a Grave Could Hold Him

Yeah, no…BBQ bugs are still bugs.

Penned and bred pigs are an altogether different beast.
I totally think a bunch of wild hog sold as such is just this.

A wild feral hog is not in any way ready for consumption. At death, where the bullet wound is, fills up with worms spewing out almost immediately. I have seen it.
I promise you, you’ll not find it scrumptious.

Cool!

Are we sure this isn’t a viral marketing campaign for a Canadian Bacon sequel?

What’s the difference? Hogs are not indigenous to the North America and I think they’re all invase whether we call them wild hogs or feral pigs.

My understanding is the wild razorback hog is many years in the making. Has adapted to its surroundings and is quite able to be healthy and well fed on what it finds to eat. They are smaller, longer limbed, fast. They have a hair coat that protects them. Loners.

A feral hog may be a couple of generations from being escaped domesticated pig that is not adapted. They are over successful in breeding. There’s not enough to feed them. They roam in huge packs. They can be large but virtually starving. So they will eat anything. They will decimate crops, tree farms. Free roaming chicken pens are on their menu. No doubt they would eat small pets. And they’re mean. Covered in pestilence.

Like I said, I figure they’re interbreeding at this point.

Maybe we should introduce leopards to North America. They would fill a similar niche as the puma but much more versatile. I have often suspected that bob cats help control pigs by killing large numbers of piglets. They seem to be extremely common in areas overrun by feral hogs.

Not enough bobcats. The pigs are in huge numbers here.

We just need more bobcats. You can order some on EBay:
