Right on, Shadez. You just beat me to this one. The OP doesn’t state any physical conditions that are essential for a valid answer so 88 posters had to wonder and conjecture about the details.
But someone pls tell this newbie, how do I embed the “This Pit Thread” like you did to provide the link. I was planning to cut and paste the entire OP.

The very thread I would have mentioned. I know further information that it is pointless posting unless the OP opts in.
Open the thread you want to link, copy its URL, then type [ url=http://http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=292978]This Pit thread but delete the space before the first “URL” to get This Pit thread.
I can see this in at least two ways. 1.) There is some grumbling about “drive-by posters” who open a thread, only to abandon it. 2.) On the other hand, it’s irritating to have an Original Poster who rides herd on his thread, arguing with every poster. 3.) If the Original Post is vague or confusing, it’s good to have the Original Poster clarify the question.

If I were banned, I don’t know how I’d be able to live. The SDMB is like water to me. I love it; I need it; I rejoice and revel in it; it makes me feel good.
(My sister and I have this thing about water: we’re both paranoid about it - we must have water with us wherever we go. Reason: when blood sugar gets high, we feel thirsty. Drinking water at that point is the best feeling in the whole, wide world. Such a sense of relief, joy, pleasure, and goodness. It’s hard to explain.) The SDMB is my dope, so to speak.
