iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3GS questions

I can’t work out if the much-heralded multitasking is actually multitasking at all.

The main reason I was excited about the upgrade is that I would be able to use the phone while listening to an audio from apps that aren’t iPod, which already runs in the background.

In my case, I listen to streaming asx radio using FStream, and music over Last.fm. Yet despite having installed the new firmware, I find that all the so-called multitask bar appears to do is list the apps that I ran recently. If I switch from one app to another, it just seems to relaunch the app from the start.

Am I just being impatient - in that the apps I’m using haven’t yet been upgraded to multitask/suspend mode? Or is there something else I’m missing?

Also, bonus question: how the hell do you create app folders? I’ve found lots of articles saying it’s possible, but none that actually tell you how to do it.

Thanks!

You will need updated apps to take advantage of the new multitasking mode. Apple has set up a special area in the App Store highlighting those apps.

To create App folders, drag one app icon over another.

Thanks! I wonder if there’s anything that will stream .asx in there…

:smack:

I doubt it, but the upcoming Windows 7 Phone might
