Iowa Family Policy Center's "Marriage Vow"

Ah yes “other kinds of intimate relations”, the natural progression of the slippery slope down the point of no return starting with same-sex marriage and ending with…necrophilia, bestiality, incest and all sorts of “other intimate kinds of relations”.

Subtle.

Listen to his voice and watch him walk and add in his obsession with homosexuality. The Anthony jury would convict.

Ahem, Dave still got to stay king, got to keep the women he commited adultery with and whose husband he had murdered, and the son from that union was Solomon who builit the temple. This was from a god that killed people who touched his/her/its holy box. Dave got a slap on the wrist followed by a cookie.

Not to mention, it’s a rather expansive definition of “religious liberties” if they can be infringed by other people getting married.

Yoicks, that walk!

If the dictionary had .gifs instead of pictures, that one would go next to “sashay.”

Besides, David had a whole raft of wives. The only one God seems to have had a problem with is Bathsheba. So, polygamy is OK; having some other dude killed off to marry wife #8 is not.

Well, that’s theft!

His second wife, Abigail, was the wife of Nabal, an enemy of David who died with really convenient timing. And his first wife was basically repossessed by her dad.

“Not all gay men have that voice, but only gay men have that voice”
-David Cross

In my experience (note qualification) that’s pretty much true.

His son and heir Solomon, said to be the wisest man ever, had 300 wives and 700 girlfriends (ok, concubines).

There’s actually a DVD series called REAL HOUSEWIVES OF THE BIBLE. It’s designed to be a lesson to modern day wives that uses examples from the Bible. I’m curious how they’re going to step around the little differences like “women as property”, adultery-punishable-by-death, and legal concubinage/polygamy.

It would be interesting to take a Middle Eastern king and his many wives and dysfunctional family and host them in a mansion on the Jersey Shore though. (“Amnon might be older than me and closer to dad, but when you rape my sister you’ve gone a step too far and I’m getting justice as soon as I get my hair done.”)

“…Barbarians need…to be disciplined”

“…Just because someone* feels it* or thinks it doesn’t mean we’re supposed to go down that road.”

“…they’re giving full wide-open doors…”
Priceless. She reminds me of Arianna Huffington, who was all right wing and conservative when she was running Michael for Congress, but who then came out on the left after he came out as a bisexual.

I think Michael has now downsized to just gay. (Old joke in the gay community: “Bi now, gay later”- i.e. a lot of self identified bisexuals are gay men who are married to a woman or otherwise not ready to let go of some hetero pretense yet- eventually they’ll be full fledged gay; there are of course real bisexuals, but there are lots of “bi now gay laters” as well.)

I understand this passage about slavery was in the version signed off on by Bachmann and Santorem, and has since been excised. Nevertheless, I’m appalled that anyone with serious aspirations to national office would make or agree to such an assertion.

Some things you can’t unsay[sup]1[/sup].

[sup]1[/sup]Referring, of course to the pledge, not what zoid said. In fact, I don’t need to quote zoid to make my point, so I’ll take out the quote now.

Lawrence O’Donnell said that Bachmann has now renounced the slavery bit of the pledge, and one of her staffers says she didn’t read the pledge in its entirety before signing it. She wants to be firmly on record as believing slavery is BAD. Good for her!

And supposedly the organization has edited the pledge to remove the slavery reference, and apologized for any misunderstanding. I have no interest and going to look at the sight to verify that.

Thrice married Newt Gingrich wants changes to the pledge:

If there’s one quality I look for in a national leader, it’s a willingness to sign things without reading them.

If you were stuck with her, you’d consider the alternative, too.

I don’t know- I always thought she’d be quite the tigress in bed and it would be a workout to have sex with her.
