Iowa Family Policy Center's "Marriage Vow"

I regularly get a woody - that count?

IOKIYAAR?

What? So what about all those stories where the child was separated from the parents to start working at about age 6, or was sold to a different owner never even getting to know his parents? What about the families that were broken up when the husband or wife were sold to separate owners?

I guess it only counts if people willingly leave the family; if slave-owners / the job (construction worker in another country, military, seaman, etc) keep parents from seeing each other for ever or for years, that is not harmful for the child.

Like the same hypocrisy where after WWII, all the widows that raised children alone were fine upstanding Trümmerfrauen; but girls who gave birth without being married were sluts and the children tainted with somehow being immoral and weaker at resisting sin (according to the Catholic Church and public prudish opinion).

That’s really a strange wording that Nava already asks about, but I wonder about:

Isn’t “Humane” today an euphenism for “killing gently”, like an old pet at the vet?

Also, they apparently only want to protect the innocent fruits (Two humans together can make fruits? We don’t need illegal immigrants picking oranges anymore!) - does this mean all children, or are some not innocent? Is that why the invented that strange phrase, to exclude some children? Maybe all children born to not-Christian or -Jews is automatically sinful? After all, that’s why the Catholic Church has baptism, to wash away Original Sin.

Is there a test they suggest, to see if the little fruit is innocent or not? Sprinkle them with holy water, to see if they burn? Brandish a cross at them?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Hell, the OJ jury would convict (and I am so stealing that line.)

ETA: Marus Bachmann’s “gay cure”

Relevant SCTV sketch.

So far Romney, Cain and Pawlenty have refused to sign the pledge.

I love the Bachmann “I didn’t mean it! I just couldn’t be bothered to read or understand a simple four page document before I signed it!” defense.

Thanks for pissing away our first-in-the-nation status, Bob Vander Plaats and the Iowa GOP. You don’t see this kind of circus when the Democrats are running a caucus in our state.

Heh. I stole Zu-Zu’s petals.

Didn’t she (allegedly) graduate law school?

My father is a lawyer. He doesn’t sign a god damned hotel receipt without reading literally every word.

She has also been Cheerleader #1 in attacking other Congress Critters for not personally fully reading 2000+ page bills before voting on them. Apparently, missing the fact that they have staffs for that.
