Charging very slowly of late I noticed the charger itself is pretty warm to the touch. Wouldn’t quite call it hot, but somewhere in between. Is it shot? If so, would an Apple store replace it at no charge? The pad itself is a couple years old.
How’s the battery life on the iPad?
Sounds like you have some background task sucking up power. When was the last time you did a full power-off and restart?
Apple equipment tends to run on the hot side when charging. Have you just noticed that, or are you saying it seems warmer than it used to?
Slow charging and decreased battery life are signs of advancing old age.
When we bought our Ipad, the guy at the Apple store suggested that battery life would be lengthened by making sure to run the battery down, to like the single digits, before recharging. Whether right or wrong, that’s what we’ve been doing. And to not leave it connected to the charger after it’s done. IE, overnight is too long to have it connected.
Edit for PS - the battery life on our Ipad is surprisingly long.
No change in battery life. It’s fine. Back to the charger itself, when I use my iPhone charger the charging process seems fine. And the iPhone charger does not get warm.
The iPad battery charges at a much higher current than the iPhone, so it should get warmer.
