iPad/PC transfers

As my wife is an artist, she wanted an iPad to take pics (it is great having that big screen), and to show her paintings.

In my more than 25 years of using computers, I have never used such an aggravating device, but I am getting it slowly. It is totally unintuitive.

Anyhow, transferring pics of her paintings to and from the PC is a royal pain. Using iTunes is too annoying to bother with, so I did download a transfer application that makes it easier, but still it is time-consuming.

I don’t know why I did not think of it before, but today i connected it via USB to my computer, and checking Windows Explorer, I was surprised to see that it actually recognized this as a drive.

The only pictures listed are in the Camera Roll (what the hell kind of name that?), and it won’t show thumbnails. However, with a picture viewer, can scroll through to identify the ones may want to transfer.

So, finally, the question; Is there any adverse effect in dragging these pics from the iPad folder to another folder on the PC? And vice versa?

From the Apple docs:

OK, many thanks. I guess I was doing it right, but never being sure of Apple OS, was reluctant to try it. Best way yet to do this.
