iPhone 4 charger question

Quick question, what if I exceed the iPhone 4’s charging ability, as I have a cable that splits the USB connection to multi connectors for being able to recharge multiple devices. Using this connector I could connect up to 4 devices at once from a single USB source. What would happen if I try to recharge multiple deviced using the iPhone 4’s charger (120VAC to USB)? Will I burn it out or will it limit the charge current to what it is able to supply?

I don’t think you will burn it out, but it will probably shut down when the current exceeds its maximum. Also, different devices may not share very fairly, so you won’t be able to charge 4 devices slowly on one charger.
