I’ve been looking around feverishly for an app that will do exactly (or close to) what I want.
I’m looking for an app that will do the following:
- Track bills (with reminders, preferably in advance of the due date)
- Allow income to be entered (paychecks, be it manually or bi-weekly recurring w/ fixed value).
- Allow bills/income to be entered as a recurring event (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.)
- Ability to be displayed in calendar format
The following isn’t required but really make it that much better:
- Ability to link w/ bank account and display live (or with a simple refresh) your current balance(s) in a checking/savings account.
I’ve found a dozen apps that satisfy either the top requirements or the bottom one, but never both. PageOnce is the closest I’ve seen, but it does not allow for income/paychecks and is severely lacking in bill tracking capabilities. It’s a very simple UI (almost too simple). I’ve tried Expensense and HomeBudget, with HomeBudget being the closest. It just lacks bank account linking else it’d be perfect.
My budgeting is very simple and low-maintenance, but I’d like to be able to do most of it on my phone. Having quick and easy bill reminders for recurring payments, automatic display of deposited paychecks/updated totals, and the ability to (maybe) link my bank account so I don’t have to manually adjust the checking account balance when I buy a candy bar.
This might be wishful thinking, but any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Another plus would be a corresponding web interface which would allow you to sync any updates while you’re on the computer with your phone.
