Iranian Movie

Several years ago I saw an Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Film, the Iranian movie “Children of Heaven.”

There was a scene where the family settles in for the night to sleep. The mother and the young daughter go to bed wearing their Islamic head coverings. I’ve always assumed that within their own homes, women would remove the head coverings to escape the heat, let their hair flow free, or for whatever reason. Is there a prohibition on removing them within one’s home or was this done simply because the actors are Iranian Moslems and therefore would not remove them for public view?

I have no idea, but I’d just like to say that Children of Heaven is a wonderful movie.
