I never thought I’d feel sorry for a guy who’s about to be elected president of the United States. But when I think of the problems he’s going to inherit . . .
He’s going to be blamed for the upcoming terrorists attacks on US soil (if he wins).
Not to mention anything in Iraq. RNC is gonna go ballistic over Iraq the second it isn’t their problem any more.
In any event, so would Bush (if he wins).
The winner loses all, it seems.
That’s Why I’m voting for Bush
That’s some extremely delicate phrasing Simon
It’s true the distribution of anything just “thrown” at the problem will be ridiculously skewed by tribal loyalties, family concerns, etc. still, it will be money in someone’s pockets they can use to buy food for those they care about. I’d guess this will be the first thing they’d do with it. The suggestion was a first step and was likened to the New Deal because the New Deal didn’t just throw money, it set up work programs and infrastructure programs. Some/most of these would be corrupted, but ultimately even corrupt income streams get spent and boost the economy(as long as the amounts are not so huge they just build a big money bin and swim around in the cash).
Bad distribution is better than total destitution. That’s my point. Figure out oversight and stamp out corruption later, get the people some income and something to do during the day right now.
Enjoy,
Steven
