stargazer, your recipe sounds great too! Do you think it would work with chocolate cake and chocolate pudding mix?
Thanks everyone for all the ideas and replies.

Last time I made one I used about a 1/3 of a wine glass. T’was great.
I’d go with making a test one to see what you prefer.
Why would we have this for dessert when it’s what we have for the starter and the main course?
Ha. You say that like the Irish can’t figure out a way to work more potatoes into the meal! My favorite meal over there featured no less than **five **forms of potato on one plate: Shepherd’s pie with diced potato in it, whipped potatoes on top, boiled potatoes, chips (your definition, not ours) and mashed sweet potatoes on the side. Gods, that was an awesome meal!
I haven’t tried it, but I think the Irish cream flavor would get lost. It works really well as a yellow cake – have you had that sherry cake that has a similar recipe? I’ve heard it called “Nancy Reagan’s Wine Cake” or something. If so, this cake is very similar, just a different booze and a slightly different topping. I can’t picture it as a chocolate cake (but, gosh, you could sacrifice yourself and try it out – y’know, take one for the team and report back! ).
If you want chocolate, I would do the chocolate stout cake or these chocolate-Guinness-Bailey’s cupcakes.
Hm. I need to decide which I’m going to do this year!
Digestive biscuits???
I’ve never heard of them before, but they sound delicious. :dubious:
Just don’t make a black & tan forest cake.
I was going to suggest adding a little liquor, Bailey’s in particular, to cream. Seems it was a little too tasty/obvious though
Do you people like spotted dick or spotted dog?
Nope, ralph124c.
Emily Litella, they are indeed delicious!
