As the men sit around the campfire and debate the big issues…the women take care of the mundane things. The things we eat…the things we wear…the places we go…the people we know. The things that matter in our everyday lives.
i thought matriarchal/patriarchal society just refered to kinship. since women tend to take the last name of their husbands, and so do the children, that would make us patriarchal. wouldnt it?
I just love it when white males complain about their place in society.
Not saying you all are white, or even male - hell, I don’t even know you guys - but it is something my husband does.
The reason you can’t see the glass ceiling? You’re male, and probably white. It doesn’t exist for you. As much as I wish it would come, I doubt I’ll see the day when the U.S. has either a black or female president. And I’m only 25. There are obviously lots of factors that go into this - some to be blamed on men, some on women, some on ethnicities, I’m equal opportunity here - but it is something that saddens me.
I guess I just wish that white males would wake up and see how incredibly lucky and priviledged they are. They’ve nothing that automatically disqualifies them from jobs.
I’ll remember to seek you out the next time I feel like ranting.
Not all white males are priviledged. Not all whites are priviledged. Not all males are priviledged. Some nonwhites are priviledged. Some females are priviledged. Some nonwhite females are priviledged. IMHO, priviledge derives far more from the status of your parents (or primary caregiver) and your environment growing up than from your skin color or gender.
England did have a woman Prime minister Maggie but being 26
i don’t think i will ever see a Black and or female US president , its more likely in the UK , but you know these leaders won’t get into those positions as long as you keep electing white male polititians
