Is anybody else having problems getting to cracked.com articles? I’ve had problems with this for a week or two. What’s going on?

Never been to that site in my life. I clicked on your link and went right to it and read a few things.

I didn’t try to look up any articles. Is that what you mean?

No problems accessing Cracked from here. The only thing is a popup that says, “We notice that you have an adblocker.” But at the bottom of the popup, in tiny type, there’s a “Continue without supporting” option.

I’m going to be a little judgemental, but Cracked???

The only place less informative is 4Chan!

Anyway, now I have that off my chest, you can use a service like this one:

I mean, I’d do some pings, DHCP queries and other semi-technical stuff, but that website will do most of the … err … very light lifting for you.

Cracked used to be funny and sometimes even had some interesting articles. I remember one in particular about the experience of a Vietnamese guy who fought against the United States during our little adventures over there. Mara Wilson, former child actor from Matilda, even had a pretty good article about what it was like growing up as an actor and aging.

Now Cracked is mostly reprints of material from past articles, collections of Reddit posts, and articles about current TV shows. The editors, last time I checked, seem to be obsessed with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and South Park.

Cracked is now practically an AI slop site. The good writers from the halcyon days of yore have all left to work on their own projects (or to become best-selling novelists, in the case of Jason Pargin). Check out 1-900-HOTDOG; Seanbaby and Robert Brockway are still trying to to keep actual writers employed…

“Jesus up and wastes some kid” is a phrase forever in my lexicon.

That’s not what it says on the website I get when I put cracked.com in my browser. I get a website that says “403 ERROR” at the top. Below that it says “The request could not be satisfied.”. Below that it says, “Request blocked. We can’t connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner.
If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.” Below that it says, “Generated by cloudfront (CloudFront) Request ID: E5F6X2ISZi_9DNnjssky0KysCgo7CYAjxCJJR5Z5NVznp9bYudZL8Q==".

What’s going on?

Are you at work? Using a VPN? Using a network that is not your own?

No, no, and no.
