This is about what I’d say, too. And ditto to Diogenes. I like just about everything I’ve heard and read about Obama, frankly. I was especially impressed that he was able to persuade a Republican state senator to appear in his campaign TV ads, praising his bipartisan work in the Illinois Senate.
Angling for a career in politics from a young age? Cory Booker did similar.
I’m not criticizing it, but I think Obama and Cory Booker are very similar in that they both were planning on being politicians at least from as early as undergraduates in High School. Many people fall into politics, many also work towards being a politician from a very young age (Bill Clinton has said his goal was to be President well before High School, and if you look at this early life you can see he was working towards that even as a boy.)
Plot? Not like you say. I think Obama has probably had a genuine interest in going into politics since before law school though. I don’t view that as a bad thing, though, if his intentions are for the best of society.
I’ll like any candidate who wants to do what they think is best–though I won’t vote for the ones whose ideas of what is best are significantly different from mine.
I prefer “realistic”.
She proved it last night on a D.C news broadcast, unfortunately the morning news this morning took the slant that she was digging for straws. She showed up on a D.C. news station last night and said that there has not been one single negative ad about Barack, and that he better get ready if he is the nominee for what the GOP is going to throw at him. Doesn’t sound like someone whose got a whole lot of hope in her own campaign. But others may read that differently. Unfortunately for her, Jake Tapper of ABC news slanted that her campaign is switching gears and is going down hill when this sort of talk begins to happen.
I just want to say that Clinton and Obama have crossover support. When this campaign began, I was very much a Clinton supporter. It has only been very slowly, and mostly because of the negative campaigning by both Clintons, that she has lost my vote. I think Hillary Clinton would make a great president. She is very smart and capable - she could definitely clean up the messes of the last four years. She just doesn’t have the ability to inspire hope and get everybody engaged in returning things to a good state.
My only concern is Obama vs. McCain. I hope he doesn’t allow McCain to set the tone of the debates. McCain is very good at not saying anything and looking reasonable and friendly and he could “nice” Obama out of the presidency.
