Is Burma Likely To Have Vast Untapped Crude Oil Deposits?

Burma is opening up. As one of the original early oil producers, Burma is something of a mystery. The former military regime allowed little if any foreign oil exploration. Bt this will change. Anybody know what geologists think of Burma oil prospects?

The oil fields at Yenangyaung have been exploited since the 18th c. The British thought them important enough to deny them to the enemy by scorched earth demolitions in 1942. Likely they will be important in the future.
