I find it quite believeable, myself. My opinion, based on what I’ve seen, is that this is exactly what happened.
The phrase “Bureaucrats Decide” is, um, “un-zoomed” into the image, as if moving in from behind the viewer. When it first enters the image, the first stuff to appear will be the middle few letters, depending on font and precise centering. Guess where the middle of the phrase is?
The worst thing the Bush ad guys did was get careless, but I’m not totally convinced that they even did that. I don’t see anything to complain about!
I cannot believe people are making such a big deal about this.
