Just curious.
If I recall correctly, Butterbean got his start by winning one of those Toughman boxing competition thingees. He has fought some legitimate heavyweights, like Larry Holmes*, so I guess he could be considered a professional boxer.
But, the heavyweight division has become less then a joke, what with Mike Tyson’s various rampages/antics/atrocities.
Give me Sugar Ray Leonard anyday.
*Never mind that Larry Holmes is about 150 years old now, but if George Foreman can fight until he’s 55, why not Holmes?
Butterbean is neither of the listed options. He is a shill. Here in Las Vegas, he plugs the Surf Buffet at the Boardwalk Hotel (“Big enough for the Bean!”) and a local chain of car dealerships.
People who do not live in the LV Valley are missing out, here.
But as for what he used to be? Eh, I’ll go with Novelty Pro Boxer.
