Is Carbondale, Illinois, the most boring town in the United States?

I live in a “trying to be a happenin’ place” (good luck with that), but I must say, ‘Carbondale, Illinois’ is a really boring-sounding name… Like on Roseanne, ‘Lanford, Michigan’. One pictures a 20 year old mall with a food stand called ‘Taters Taters Taters.’

Roseanne’s Lanford was a fictional town in Illinois, not Michigan. And all the exterior shots of homes and businesses used on the show were shot in my hometown of Evansville, Indiana – also boring, but much larger than Lanford was supposed to be.

I lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for 8 years. I nominate it as the most boring city in the U.S.

Even with Laverne and Shirley and Jeffery Dahmer?

Milwaukee? Perhaps a boring city for its size, but it certainly has a nice riverwalk.

Then again, I found it infinitely easier to find a good time in Cleveland than in Milwaukee, so you may have a point there.
