Is "Celebrity Net Worth" (.com) A Reliable Source?

CelebrityNetWorth.com purports to tell your favorite celebrity’s, uh, net worth, plus their annual income. It also gives brief biographies, yada yada yada.

Is the information therein reliable? I get the sense that they’re just estimating. And by “estimating” I mean “guessing.”

For example:

Tim Tebow purportedly has a net worth of $3 million. I think that might be a little low: even though his NFL career was short, it was lucrative, and considering his schtick as [del]a stick-in-the-mud[/del] devout evangelical Christian, it’s probable that he didn’t blow all his money on strip clubs, parties, and seats at the High Roller tables in Vegas, like so many pro athletes do. And there’s the endorsements, book deal, etc. BUT his Annual Salary of $1.6 million makes no sense at all. He’s a college-football analyst on a fourth-tier satellite channel (SEC Network). I’ve no reason to believe that ESPN and its franchises don’t treat their employees well, but even $350k for his job seems awfully generous. If everyone on the ESPN payroll who had a higher-profile job than Tim Tebow made $1.6 million or more, the network would be broke within a month.

Tonya Harding, on the other hand, supposedly has a net worth of $30,000. For all I know, Tonya Harding is making minimum wage at a Portland Walmart. If she has more than a few hundred bucks in her bank account I’ll eat my shoe.

Anyone have any scoop on how this data is compiled?
