Powell’s qualifications are almost not important. He has an 81% public approval rating. It’s not what it is, it’s what we think it is. I guess the collective we are comfortable with him. IMO, the intro Bush gave Powell at the little school was an embarassment. He was about one sentence away from saying “Powell is a credit to…” One of the most patronizing expressions that ever exsisted in our culture.
Sorry - I read this title and had images of Powell With a blue mohawk in the pit with me at a Distillers show. hehehe… But seriously, he is a good politician. Not the best at wartime tactics, but he knows how to play.
