Prior to this thread, I had considered Columbia to denote the United States. Much like a bear for Russia or John Bull for England. Such symbols used to appear often in political cartoons.
Looks like the term is “national personification”. And indeed Columbia appears on the list for the US.
In Elder Scrolls terms, Columbia mantled Liberty.
