I don’t even think they can use the “slow news period” excuse for this crap. Baseball is in the midst of an exciting season, golf and NASCAR are much bigger than they were 10 years ago, and it seems there’s nearly as much football and basketball activity in the offseason as in season. How is that any different than February’s middle of the season situation? Trust me, ESPN putting on its cheesy TV movies is the equivalent of MTV putting on “The Real World”. In five years, all you’ll see on ESPN is puffed-up celebrity profiles while actual games get stuck to nosebleed hours.
