I see a lot of personal information that gets disclosed and reported in connection with Florida trial cases. Private conversations between jailed suspects and family surprised me the most. They are released to the press word for word. Some of the jail’s audio recordings gets posted on youtube.
The judge handling the Curtis Reeves case (the theater shooting) has released notices of depositions, pretrial motions, motions granted, notices of pretrial conferences etc. The minutia is pretty amazing.
Several of the Florida trials were broadcast live on tv. (Casey Anthony, George Zimmerman, and probably Curtis Reeves will be to.)
Is Florida the most zealous and proactive in FOIA legislation? Are other states this aggressive in disclosing everything?
