I asked you to show me sources showing that Fox lies the most than the other networks, why’s that so hard to do?
I’ve already been through the thread and I didn’t see anything comparing it to other networks, just boilerplate rants about stuff such as how Bill O’Reilly says there’s a “War on Christmas” or whatever.
So nope, so far this just looks like another “list of reasons why Faux News sucks” thread that’s been done do death by a million other partisans before, a lot of it probably from people who complain about the bias of Fox News pundits while using Ed Schultz, Bill Maher, or Jon Stewart as their primary “news” sources, not a serious discussion or comparison of Fox to the other networks.
In other words, people who just hate that Fox’s bias isn’t in the other direction, as opposed to serious journalistic organizations like FactCheck which objectively point out bias and inaccuracies on all of the networks.
So do you have actual sources backing up your claim that Fox lies the most of the 3 Cable Networks, or are you just repeating something you think ‘you heard’ on talk radio shows like Thom Hartmann?
If you prove with sources that Fox lies the most or is the most biased then I’ll admit defeat, if you just want to rant about something Bill O’Reilly said back in 2005 about a war on Christmas, or something like that, I could care less.
Click the link I provided (here it is again!) and you will find them. They’re right there in the post. If you can’t be bothered to click through twice and read, I can’t be bothered to manually copy a half-dozen links.
I did.
Yes. Yes, I am. Look, there’s 26 pages of examples here. If you want to point out similar lies or errors from other news networks, be my guest. But to just dismiss all of this because we haven’t directly analyzed every clip on each network is folly. You’re setting an impossible standard.
Okay I read the first 8 pages of the thread and the only study I found was a Huffington Post story about how Fox viewers rank less informed on certain polls:
Apparently Fox viewers fared worse than the average on domestic and international questions, and Fox and MSNBC both faired worse than the average on international questions - (Though allegedly Fairleigh Dickinson University’s undergraduate program is ranked as one of the worst in the country, so I’m not sure how credible the poll is on the whole, and I’d be nice to see what specific questions were asked).
Other than that, I just saw a bunch of whining and ranting, a bunch of people dredging up specific , as well as a couple of Humanists who seem to be angry that Fox’s ideology doesn’t tie in with their belief system, but not much in the way of actual information.
See that blue (or grey) underlined thingy above? That is a link. A link to a post. If you click on it, your browser will open a new tab, where you will be able to read the post, which cites 7 studies and polls examining the honesty and trusthworthiness of FOX news. This is now the third time I have linked you to this.
*Comedy Central’s Jon Stewart told the Fox News Channel on Sunday: “Who are the most consistently misinformed media viewers? … Fox viewers, consistently, every poll.”
That’s False, PolitiFact National determined.*
You just posted a source debunking a misinformed comment by Jon Stewart which you were trying to claim, lol
Other than that you have this, cool I’ll give you that:
As shown in Table 1, more exposure to Fox News was associated with more rejection of
many mainstream scientists’ claims about global warming
And this:
Frequency of Misperceptions:
Evidence of al-Qaeda Links, WMD Found,
World Public Opinion Favorable
Respondents with one or more
misperceptions
NBC
CBS
ABC
Fox
CNN
PBS-NPR
Print media
55%
71%
80%
61%
47%
But the fact that you posted a link debunking a claim you were trying to make yourself makes me think you didn’t even read any of the sources you posted.
Links added by me just because they were really not hard to find.
As others noted, you have not read the thread, even one very stubborn defender already in the thread had to acknowledge that regarding Climate Change Fox News is more willing to misled or lie to their audience.
Did you actually watch the video, or read any of the cites? The point of that link was to point out just how often FOX News lies. The fact is if you go back and read Politifact’s original ruling on Stewart’ statement, you’ll find:
So we have three Pew studies that superficially rank Fox viewers low on the well-informed list, but in several of the surveys, Fox isn’t the lowest, and other general-interest media outlets – such as network news shows, network morning shows and even the other cable news networks – often score similarly low.
Stewart’s claim was wrong. My claim is that FOX News viewers are always near the bottom, is accurate.
My apologies for the old links, that was several years ago. I welcome you to find the studies yourself if you’d like, or see if you can find any studies that don’t put FOX near the bottom of the barrel.
The Clinton News Network (CNN) is just MSDNC with a bigger budget & moar gravitas … RT is in a power struggle between Far Left & Far Right elements that pull the strings there.
No, CNN and MSNBC are actually extremist communist revolutionaries, while Fox News is almost as far left, comfortably in the “Che Guevara” section. Rush Limbaugh might as well be Noam Chomsky. Alex Jones is closer to the middle, but still almost as liberal as pinko Barack Obama. If you really want moderate news, you’ll have to check the KKK’s newspaper. Conservative news hasn’t existed since the downfall of the state-run German papers in the 30s.
There is no “Far Right” in mainstream American Politics anymore (Not since George Wallace (D) WON the Michigan & Florida Democrat POTUS Primaries (among others) in 1972 and BTW the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan was litigated out of existence in 1986 by the SPLC and all current incarnations are wannabes & splinter groups.
And even that (That CNN could be the most reliable) is talking in proportion, IMHO there is not a lot to be desired from the big networks regarding the previous election.
Thing is that I remember then The Young Turks also pointing later at the cowardice that even MSNBC got into when looking themselves about how the media dropped any pretense at reporting how unfit Trump was really. (Prejudice and lack of a thick skin on Trump was ignored)
Another report later showed a clip of MSNBC reporters just poo pooing the danger that Jorge Ramos had pointed at. It really was a big reminder to me of how, even if an outfit like MSNBC could be called liberal, the bottom line about ratings in the corporate press remains.
The choice then was made, continue to offer free press to El Trompo rather than pound on the inadequacies so as to continue to gain access to Trump and the ratings he was giving them.
In the end not even MSNBC (nor CNN) had the guts to do the very hard hitting reporting that was needed.
Anyhow, what really should fry your noodle is that even taking all that into account FOX news is much worse than MSNBC and CNN.
Too simple and wrong, IMHO a better sample on who had the guts of not caring what Trump could say or to not fear the loss of ratings for not having access, were in the list in the cite posted in the previous post. (Remember, corporate press that looks leftist in reality will toss progressives under the bus if it gives them more ratings as in the previous election)
You should notice that CNN and MSNBC did not made the cut on the list.
MSDNC & CNN & ALL the Alphabet Channels were on a zeitgeist against Trump in final months of the Election , any other viewpoint about this is sketchy at best…
