I’ve owned my own domain for many years. I just used it for my personal email and a disused website of no importance. The other day I got an email from GoDaddy domain buy service offering me a sizeable amount to sell them the domain. I made a counter-offer and it was accepted. It’s not enough to go thru the escrow service they speak of. Just wondering if anyone has done this and make sure I’m not being scammed…
I’ve used their domain buying service before to sell a domain that someone else wanted. It was legit.
However, I can’t imagine anything less than $100 would not qualify for their escrow service. You may want to call their support line (which is quite helpful) and make sure you are really using their service, not some scammer posing as them.
ETA: Nevermind I guess if it’s under $3000 they don’t use escrow.com Domain Broker Service: a seller's roadmap | Domains - GoDaddy Help US But still, make a call if you are concerned.
It’s a good amount (makes me wonder if I should have asked for more!) but I will be happy to get it. I need to figure out the best way to change things over because I have a lot of email accounts registered under the domain (various aliases for various websites).
