Is Gore going nuts, or just enjoying himself?

Bush was born in Maine and Kerry in Colorado. And let’s not get into the old debate about who went to a war and killed people and who didn’t.

Months ago, cable news guy Keith (Olberman?) showed a snippet of a Gore speech. I think Gore was saying something about Bush having betrayed the country. Keith O. made comments along the lines of Gore having lost it or gone nuts or something of the sort. I don’t remember his exact words. Or Gore’s – too long ago. What I remember is what bugged me.

It bugged me that Keith O. was ignoring two things. (1) Everything Gore said in the snippet he showed was quite true. (2) Gore’s audience was applauding and cheering like mad.

If the Gore we’ve been seeing the last few months is the real Gore, I wish to God the real Gore had run for President in 2000. He’d probably have won (decisively enough for it to stick). For that matter, I wish the real Gore had been there to handle things during the Flordia debacle and all that followed.

Now Kerry seems to be making the same mistake Gore made – playing the moderate; trying to capture the middle. When will the Dems realize that when they move to the middle (in order to capture it), they lose their base. Base thinks, how can I vote for this guy, he’s practically a Republican.

Like I said earlier, Gore is talking like this now because he has nothing to lose. Or win.

They’ve lost their base? Since when? Everybody moves to the middle in a general election.

Ah yes, Texas, home of such swaggering he-men as Tommy Tune.

Well if this Tune fella is in Texas now, he best just move on before he meets a talking walking Texan. It’ll make his blood dry up 'cause when Texas men speak normal, it’s a holler, so that bird take flight, dogs run off, the sun hurries up, and men from other states begin to weep. When Texas men walk, the Earth cracks and rattlesnakes fall in, and rivers change direction out’a fear.

In Massachusetts you have to wear special glasses to tell the men from the women.

Are you kidding me? Kerry’d whip Bush’s ass like a redheaded stepchild!

It’s not even the first time they used it again Gore, during THIS campaign against Kerry.

Is this going to be another case where nobody can say exactly how he’s acting abnormally, like in this thread?

This is simply a pure ad hominem attack against Gore, no doubt originating from Karl Rove’s war room.

My theory is this- after decades of marital boredom, Tipper decides things are going to have to change. So, one night, Al comes home and finds her waiting in the bedroom, wearing rubber gloves and holding a pair of forceps. “Bend over, Al”, she orders. “That stick is coming out of your butt.”

The next morning, after a night of wild monkey sex, hanging from the ceiling fan revolving bat sex, followed up by doing something really different, Al kissed an exhausted but happily smiling Tipper goodbye, and went out to hit the campaign trail on behalf of the current Democratic candidate for POTUS.

Of course, when someone who has had a stick up their butt for lo, these many years suddenly has said stick removed, the change in behavior can seem so startling that some might question whether he had gone over the edge.
