I would think that you would have to evaluate every soldier and every incident individually. But certainly there is no honor in mindless indescriminate killing of civilians.
Also, I think you might be romanticizing honor among thieves and criminals.
People who go on about honor are generally full of it. They figure they have tons of the stuff and others have none.
