Is it Bad Manners to Poll Dopers for Information for a Teemings® Article?

I know it’s bad form to use the SDMB for homework. I’m kicking around an idea for a Teemings® article, and I’d like information from Dopers. Is this discouraged?

I think that’d be fine, Rastahomie. You’ve been around long enough that we can trust your intentions.

Why is it bad form to ask about homework?
Lots of questions are just idle, like today’s “How often do you brush your teeth?”
Also, there’s the ones to settle bets.
And there’s plenty of seemingly endless repetative religious questions.

I don’t see a problem with this, so go on ahead.

If the questions are inappropriate or the Teeming Millions don’t feel like playing along for any reason, they’ll let you know.

Becuase you should do your own homework with your own original research. That’s the whole point of homework.
