A few years ago a man in London ran a money-making scam involving job interviews. He lived in London and only applied for jobs in London but he had an accomodation address hundreds of miles away in north Scotland. He only went after jobs that paid expenses to those people attending the interview. All the paperwork went to his Scottish address and he claimed travelling and hotel expenses as though he had travelled down from Scotland , even though he actually lived in London. The law finally caught up with him and I think he was sent to jail for fraud and theft.
I wouldn’t think it’d be wrong really unless someone were just up to some kind of JACKASS type hijinks. YMMV.
