X-Tube is where it really counts.
Well, I was wrong. Labour came third in the Euro elections, beaten by the Tories and UKIP. And the scumbags of the BNP got 2 MEPs.
This is much more of a disaster for Labour than the local elections. Those who vote UKIP in the Euro elections are much more likely to vote Tory in the national elections, and this is a poll of the whole country, not just a bit of it.
And Daniel Hannan is improving markedly as a speaker. Watch him channel Dr Seuss.
One paper (Sunday Telegraph) reported that the four Government Ministers who resigned recently did so as a pact to try to get Brown overthrown.
With the economy in the tank, disastrous local and European elections and the resignations, it is hard to see what Brown can do to restore confidence.
He’s probably hoping that a combination of inertia and no likely challengers (the likeliest, Alan Johnston, has just accepted a senior Cabinet post) will keep him in office.
Given the paper’s bias, I’d like to see that second-sourced before attaching any significant credence to it.
Brain bleach, brain bleach. STAT!
Latest news as of 23:00 UK, He has survived a meeting with the Parliamentary Labour Party, with the absence of any figure emerging to trigger a leadership contest.
Accusations abound that behind the scenes deals, arm twisting, and veiled threats have safeguarded him for now.
