Is it good to have high levels of Urate Oxidase in the blood? what does it mean? For more Paleo Die

My latest blood test showed a level of 6.9mg/dl. At the higher “normal” range. 2 years ago (before switching to a paleo diet)it was at 3.5. Last year (one year into the diet) it was at 5.3. Can anyone tell me about this enzyme. I googled it and can’t really make out what they are saying. thanks

Are you sure it was urate oxidase and not uric acid? The normal range for that is 3.5 to 7.5 mg/dl.

Actually 3.5 to 7.2 mg/dl. Sorry for the double post, too late to edit and I noticed the mistake late.

The blood-test was done in Spain and the readout says “Urato” which translates to Urate. In Spanish it would have been “ácido úrico” for uric acid…
