Yeah, lord knows how we survived the Angelfire, Geocities, and Myspace days.

She still does not look young enough for the stated intended image, since she very clearly has breasts starting. To portray childhood innocence, I think you should go prepubescent. It also fits with my understanding of some other cultures where nudity of children is more often used for this image. But only up until puberty starts.
I also am surprised about how crappy it looks. I know they didn’t have Photoshop back then, but I’m sure I’ve seen better composited shots from that era. I mean, you can at least put a backdrop in a studio so you’re not cutting around her hair.
So not only do I find it vaguely discomforting, but it looks kinda crappy. I think I’d rather just have the music.
Fifty-something is old? Get the hell of my lawn, whippersnapper!
If soemthign was going to be made aboutt he cover they would of made somethign about it a long time ago.
Perhaps since it’s been in the public eye so long, but a new cover photo like that would certainly be a big problem. People used to take innocent photos of their naked children and it was no big deal. Now they are reported to the police for child porn. I remember a Popular Photography magazine photo in the 1970s of a pubescent girl - probably 11-13 years old, similar to the Blind Faith album cover girl - with her top off. You would never see such a thing now. Society has become fanatical and equates simple nude photos - even artistic ones - with child porn.
At the time it was a bit of a deal, but not a huge deal. I purchased the album probably when I was 17, shortly after it was released, since I was a huge Cream fan. I don’t recall that I had any problem purchasing it.
You won’t see it in mainstream publicans perhaps, but there are many nude (non sexual) photos of young children on the web. And, I suspect, completely legal. I agree that society has freaked out a bit about this topic, including parents getting reported for “kids in bathtub” type of photos.
I’ve seen DVDs of Pretty Baby for sale in those big discount bins at Wal-Mart. That may be more ignorance of the content than acceptance, but it was there.
I’ve very occasionally run across pics of naked toddlers on Facebook.
