is it ok to use an actors name in a product marketing statement?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if you are allowed to refer to an actor or show name in a marketing statement that would go on a website to be clever (e.g. Add Robin Williams get a sales tool).

Not following exactly what you mean. (“Add Robin Williams get a sales tool” makes no sense.)

However, if an actor perceived that you were using his or her name without permission to promote your product, I imagine that you could expect to hear from his or her lawyer(s).

ah, basically we’re making an application that gives information to people who sell concert tickets, etc. So the marketing quote was going to be something like (Ozzy goes in, a sales tool comes out)

You should really seek the advice of a lawyer, in my opinion.
