Hardly seems pointless to me. Deep in the South going against the anti-science crowd probably takes a good deal of political courage.
My knowledge of Texas historical revisionism is very vague, but I seem to recall they were characterizing slavery as good for the slaves and were very pro manifest destiny so that shoving natives aside was deemed a good thing.
Don’t forget we Texans know that this country was founded as a Christian Nation and made sure it was put in the History books as such. Just don’t bother to read what the Founding Fathers wrote on the subject and what the Constitution says. We are Texas, we a right so there
