Is It Possible To Determine a Dollar Bill's Denomination From the Serial Number?

The title pretty much says it all: is there any identifying information on a U.S. dollar bill the exposes its denomination?

Well…the denomination indicator exposes its denomination. Otherwise, no, it doesn’t appear that the serial number contains anything related to the denomination. On the other hand, the denomination of the bill probably helps them determine which series the bill came from since there’s no guarantee that bills of separate denominations won’t have the same serial number.

What you talking about Willis?

I’m pretty sure that each bill regardless of denomination would have a unique serial number. Such that you could look up the serial number of any particular bill and know what it’s denomination was.
