I was wondering. Is it possible to see how old is your email address? My first email was from hotmail, but I don’t use that account any more. It is now more than 10 years old. My current email was created a while after gmail became popular. But I would love to see when I actually created my account, more for the sake of curiosity than any other thing… Is that possible?
You have probably never deleted any of your sent mail, so go to that file land see what the oldest messsage was. I just checked my Gmail, my oldest sent mail in that folder is 6/28/07. With 1,428 sent messages.
Go to this tool:
https://www.google.com/dashboard/migration/?srcAccount=YOUREMAIL@GMAIL.COM
And it should tell you the account creation date
Thank you, Reply! My account was created on the 16th of may 2005. Wow!!
I still have my Welcome to GMail! email at the very bottom of my inbox. Pretty sure I got my gmail address in the latter stages of the “invite-only” era.
I just checked my oldest Gmail account and it seems I recently passed the 10-year mark. Do I win anything? :-))
Just as a reminder, any data held by Google over six months is no longer considered in the same private care, so to speak; I’m sure legions of lawyers can correct me on definitions–but I believe the emails, or whatever, can be searched without a warrant.

Newbie! Mine is 6/21/04.
6/19/04 here. :b But I know Dopers have earlier ones, as I seem to recall I was already well into the invite-only process (which I heard first about here on the Dope) when I got an invitation from someone. Might have been a Doper. Folks here were giving out invites left and right.
I can still log into the email account I got as an undergraduate in 1989, it’s 25 years old now. The policy was that accounts are removed if inactive for six months
