If your an insider (presumably a policeman, or a lab technician), is it the death penalty for tampering with evidence regularly? Is it every state?
Tampering with evidence would NEVER result in the death penalty, in any state. At most it could land you in prison for a couple of years.
Witness tampering, on the otherhand, is punishable by death. If by tampering, you mean killing.
As far as I remember, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that you can’t execute someone for a crime that didn’t kill anyone.
So, if the “evidence tampering” got someone killed, then yes, you could be executed. But they’d be executing you for murder, not for the evidence tampering itself.
