Is it true Scunci ponytail holders don't break hair?

I have been told that Scunci ponytail holders will not break your hair unlike regular, more common elastic bands. Is this true?

It’s just a softer ponytail holder than usual, being made out of (more or less) chunks of pantyhose, so it’s less likely to break your hair than the regular covered ponytail holders, but nothing is 100%–You can still pull it too tight and have it break hairs off that are caught in it.

It’s really just halfway between a regular ponytail holder and a scrunchy.

I notice they’re not saying “will not break hairs”.

Judging by the wads of hairs entangled on my daughter’s Scrunchies, I’d say…eh, maybe a little better than regular rubber bands. Haven’t noticed any broken hairs, per se. These things tend to slide better.

Of course, she does tend to yank them from her hair, so whole hairs get wadded up on them from time to time.

According to her (I have short hair…so no personal experience here) they’re much easier on the hair-pulling and also easier to yank out, with minimum breakage. YMMV.

And I see that I was talking about Scrunchies…not Scuncies. (sigh) Gotta take a reading course one of these days.

HowEVER…a good friend of mine swears by the Scuncies. Minimum breakage, due to softness and easier to take out of the hair. She also says they don’t “bend” her hair. Which I took to mean as a good thing.

I thought what I bought said “Scunci” on the packaging. However, after looking at DDG’s link, I may have “Scrunchis” afterall

I use Goody Ouchless elastic bands.

No metal crimp, but a good snug tension with three wraps on my age reduced pony tail. they yank out a couple of hairs now and then, but way better than rubber bands, or the ones with the brass clips.

They do tend to get stretched out after a dozen uses or so.
