Is it truly impossible to trap mariana in a container with no scents permeating whatsoever

Smells like teen spirit.

I think it was Ed Herlihy who’s supposed to have delivered an on-air plug for “Chef Boy-ar-dee Marijuana Sauce.”

captainj954, the members of this forum have hair triggers on inside jokes and common memes, as well as low tolerances for grammer and spelling errors. It is normal to feel confused and intimidated at first. Proof read your posts, and you will do well here. Also, if anyone offers you a goat or other small mammal, do not panic.

Welcome to the SDMB.

Do lungs leak? That’s 10 seconds right there.

Heh, you misspelled the two most significant words in your post: grammar and proofread. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s exactly what they told mariana.

Nice! I miss you guys!

Marijuana confuses people, makes them feel paranoid, and think irrationally.
And that’s for the people who don’t even use the stuff.

Can’t seem to find the edit button to redo the title. I screwed up with the spelling and now Im stuck with it. I guess spelling is just one of things that cause a person to fall into a category which causes them to be perceived as the type of person who either isn’t smart or doesn’t know what the !*% they are talking about lmao. My dearest apologies for this.
PS. is there anyone out there including cecil who actually knows about the physical properties of volatile compounds specifically smell and which materials they permeate and which materials dont. Im guessing a chemical engineer possibly??? Cant find anything on the net concerning this phenomenon.

Perhaps a test is in order. Obtain a large sample of the material in question. Package it various ways (tin can, glass jar, cardboard box, ziplock bag, etc.) and then see if the local police K9 unit would be willing to participate in an experiment (purely for science, of course).

Thermos

.

I’m picking out a Thermos for you!

.

If you really care about the spelling you can e-mail a mod and they can probably fix it for you. If you report your post and make a request that may work as well.

Ok, it was over 25 years ago, but a confession of sorts;

Back in the early to mid 80’s, I took a onie full of pot to Europe. I filled it, washed the outside with soap and let it sit until dry. Then, several hours later, I washed my hands thoroughly (I think I even used bleach, may have been mopping the floor or something at the time) so no scent or chemicals on my hands. I took some saranwrap, layed it on the counter, put some black pepper on it, set the onie on it, wrapped it around, put more pepper in, wrapped again.

I flew into a major city, went through security, had the dogs walking right up to me and everything, no difficulty, no issue. They hand searched my bag in front of me and had me empty my pockets (it was in my inside coat pocket, I didn’t touch it).

The scent will not permeate a solid barrier, it isn’t magic.

So what’s an “onie?”

Mythbusters already did. The OP seems unsatisfied with their findings. They only tested if the dog could detect it, not whether the scent escaped the container (vs external contamination during packing).

I would go with the onie.

Also, maybe the different strains of weed factor in. Maui Wowy and Thai sticks among others, when I was a mere lad. Diesel and Northern Lights are, in theory, C. sativa and C. indica based mixes, respectively.

I think you’re gonna have to ask the dog.

There’s no such thing as ‘a solid barrier’, in this context.
