Is it worth installing the Outlook App for Hotmail?

My Android phone is rooted to my primary Gmail account. I set up my two Hotmail accounts too. I decided not to merge my inbox. I change inboxes depending on which email I’m reading. That way work email is separate from personal.

The GMail App and Hotmail have issues. The most annoying is deleted emails coming back a minute or 2 after I delete them. (my notification bar rings) Or having a old email from 2012 unexpectedly arrive on my phone. My Hotmail accounts are 25 years old. Supposedly only recent emails get sent to my phone and stored. But I get a false notification from old Hotmail email pretty often.

The old Hotmail block filter doesn’t seem to work in the GMail App. I like to block companies that send too many junk emails. Send their crap to the junk folder. That doesn’t work in the GMail App

Anyone here using the Outlook App on their phone? How well does it get along with the GMail App? I know that I have to delete the Hotmail accounts from GMail. Then set them up under Outlook.

What about Notifications? Will GMail and Outlook share the notification bar?

I’m not thrilled about running 2 email Apps. But maybe that’s the best choice?

I was running the Hotmail & Gmail apps until the Hotmail one stopped working (probably a few years(?) at this point). I then upgraded to the Outlook app, again with no issues. Started to upgrade to the current Outlook app but it needs unnecessary permissions (why it needs GPS location I don’t know) so I deleted it. One device is running the old Outlook app while the other one is running BlueMail.

I get separate notifications in the bar so I know which of my email addresses has new email just by looking at the top line / notifications. No issues with running both email apps.
