More and more, the hotels on the Vegas Strip are depending on the shows (and clubs, and pools - well, what they charge men to get into the pools, anyway - and, to a lesser extent, the high-end and “name” restaurants - yes, you too can have Beef Wellington with Scallops and Risotto at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen restaurant…but seriously, Fieri? $20 for a lowbrow burger and fries?), and less on the casinos, to make their money, as more and more high rollers notice the game changes on the Strip (a blackjack game where blackjack pays 3-2 instead of 6-5 is very hard to find on the Strip; the casinos are targeting the people who show up for the other things and think they know how to “count cards” well enough to beat a 6-5 game, which is pretty much impossible, but they saw them do it on The Simpsons so it must be true).
