Here is a corrected link.
I hate to say it, but Michelle Wie seems to have become the Paris Hilton or Brittany Spears of golf.

Seriously, the Reno Open should just start inviting Bill Murray on a sponsor’s exemption. That would be so much more respectable than inviting Wie.
No. Not until she’s more noted for her off-the-course antics than for her performance (or lack thereof) on the course. At present she’s still getting attention for her golf, and perhaps for her failure to live up to her over-hyped potential. And playing with the men gives her more attention, but not neccessarily more opportunities to gain respect for her golf skills.
I find her disqualification very sad, because it does nothing to promote the notion that she has what it takes (physically and mentally) to be a champion in golf --regardless of her opponents, but still, she’s only eighteen and still has the potential to have a decent career in golf–or even a stellar one.
From anyone with half a brain? Who? When?
He was Player of the Year on the PGA Tour in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007. I guess missing out in 2002 and 2004 counts as “losing it.”
Check here for some mind boggling statistics on his accomplishments.
But you gotta admit, that’s a pretty biased site.
The site may be, but the stats are independently verifiable.
Yahoo Sports news says that currently Ms. Wie is the fifth top earning female athelete in the world. I wish I was that done.
Over/Under on tomorrow’s round for Ms. Wie? I’ll set the line at 82.
Odds?
I’ll take the over.
Her physical game could be perfect, but I think it’s her mental game that will always be lacking.
Over/Under bets are always even money. Just let me know how much you want to bet, and after tomorrow find a loser to collect from, and send 10% to me.
Simple.
Wow, a license to print money. That’s admirable.
That would be endorsements. That will dry up in a couple years.
Is that when she poses for Playboy?
We should’ve bet…she is not playing today… the Reno event is next week and I don’t think she was invited to the Evian…
She shot +1 in the first round. Right now the projected cut line is even, but I expect a lot of folks to go low today. Hope she is one of them. Only problem - does she have to hide those long stems beneath slacks when playing on the men’s tour?
Not even close. A nice round of 80.
Misses the cut, again.
Her parents and agents could teach a masters class on how to mismanage a promising career. Luckily she’s young…
Actually, she probably does. To allow her to wear shorts or a skirt while limiting the men to slacks would be gender bias.
She shot 80 and missed the cut by 9. She wasted another weekend. Womans major this weekend and she skipped it. Must get a bunch of appearance money.
PS Every golfer should be allowed to wear shorts.
