is my Ab-Doer broken?

So a couple of weeks ago I was a the doctor’s office. I parked out back, and when I went to leave, I noticed an Ab Doer next to the dumpster (which is rather isolated on the other side of the parking lot, it was very obviously being thrown away) . I threw it in the car and took it home. Anyway, it seems like there is very VERY little resistance to the floppy bendy part… but I have no idea what it is supposed to be like. If it is broken, is it fixable?

Anyone have one?

Is the “Ab Doer” the same as the AbFlex? (Damn, those would both work as the title of a porn movie.)

This doesn’t have very good pictures but it is one of the many sites that sells the thing… no idea what an AbFlex is.
