Is My Turkey Self- Basting?

I want to brine my turkey this year but after looking at some recipes online it seems that brining souldn’t be done on Kosher or self-basting turkeys. I have already bought a turkey but I can’t tell if it is self-basting. It is a Plump & Juicy Young Butterball Turkey. It doesn’t say self-basting on it anywhere but it does say “Contains up to 7% of a solution to enhance juiciness and tendreness.” And then underneath it “Of water, salt, modified food starch, sodium phosphates and natural foods.” (Yummy).

So, is my turkey self basting or is it OK to brine it? Thanks guys.

On a related note, anyone have any simple brining recipes? Thanks.

Usually, if it has a ‘solution’ of anything…it’s basically brined. Here’s a good primer though. Turkey Selection & Preparation - The Virtual Weber Bullet

(for some reason the html tools aren’t working) It’s worth the link though.

Dang…and here’s the recipe I meant to post. http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/turkey6.html

This is an example of a faith-baste turkey.
I’m sorry. I’ll go quietly.
